Job Type:             Full Time

Work Hours: Monday- Friday (40 hrs/wk)

Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on Saturday, it is observed on Friday. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, it is observed on Monday.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES – Ensure that all functions are compliant and processed timely to support multiple payroll schedules.  Actively participate in activities that will improve accuracy and reporting related to Payroll processing and reporting.  .

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Controls existing payroll functions and responsibilities as assigned
  • Review/verify time sheets for accuracy prior to uploading into the financial system
  • Creates payroll data file for third party payroll processor (CBIZ)
  • Verifies and posts gross pay costing in financial system
  • Maintains employee information in financial system, and third party payroll processor
  • Manage and update Journal entries to record payroll, and related transactions in financial system
  • Prepares off-schedule payouts
  • Fulfills wage garnishment requirements by completing forms; adjusting payroll records, documenting and transmitting withholding’s
  • Completes and/or ensures completion of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual year-end tasks
  • Evaluates operational tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance, measuring against desired results, updating control points and reporting as required
  • Investigates, reports, and analyses data as needed
  • Participates in payroll projects and programs, whether new or modified
  • Performs analytical work and research pertaining to issues/changes/upgrades
  • Provides guidance as needed in development or to resolve unexpected problems
  • Participates in evaluation of new programs to ensure proper controls are established
  • Performs assigned payroll tasks
  • Communicate routinely with management on Payroll related issues
  • Performs onboarding duties for new hires

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Deltek CostPoint, Deltek time and expense
  • Cbiz (Centrally HR)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Effective and efficient communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and systems
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration (direct work related experience may be substituted for education)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in payroll processing and reporting
  • In accordance with DoD contract requirements, candidates must be a US citizen

 

Work Remotely: Potential to work remote 1-2 days/week
