GCI is seeking a Senior Windows Administrator to support a Dept. of Defense contract for a period of 3 months with the possibility of extension. Telework is authorized, but preference given for candidates residing in the Reston, VA area.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and administering Windows-based deployments in DoD environments
- Implementing and maintaining Windows STIG and related security postures (e.g., ACAS, HBSS/ESS)
- Extensive experience with Active Directory, including integration with Sailpoint and/or Ping Identity
- Expertise with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint security and tagging
- Ensuring compliance with DoD security and identity standards
- Familiarity with DoD ICAM and collaboration with internal teams to connect cloud-native identity tools
- Knowledge of cloud parent/child tenancies, including Defender deployment for multiple Mission Owners
- Configuring and maintaining Windows Remote Desktop Gateway
- Deploying/maintaining Windows environments (patching, configuration) via DevSecOps toolchains
- Integrating and managing identity tools, including Sailpoint and CyberArk
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and documenting infrastructure/security issues
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum SECRET clearance
- At least 5 years’ hands-on experience with cloud technologies
- Ideally 10 years’ experience working in DoD environments
- Strong Active Directory experience in DoD settings with integration to DoD Identity Services
- Deep Microsoft Defender expertise, including deployments/reporting across Mission Owners
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to Sailpoint, Ping Enterprise, and/or CyberArk
- Knowledge of SCCA or DoD security frameworks
- Relevant cloud or Windows certifications, such as:
- Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800 + AZ-801)
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
1099 position- up to $61/hour
