GCI and Chenega Technology Services (CTSC, LLC) were notified by the Under Secretary of Defense’s Office of Small Business Programs that its Mentor-Protégé Program has been selected to receive the 2013 DoD Nunn-Perry Award.

The DoD Mentor-Protégé program was created and implemented by former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry. The program was created to assist small businesses (protégés) to successfully compete for prime contract and subcontract awards by partnering with large companies (mentors) under individual, project-based agreements. The prestigious Nunn-Perry Award, named in honor of the program’s founders was first awarded in 1995 to recognize outstanding Mentor-Protégé teams formed under the auspices of the DoD Mentor-Protégé program.

In his award notification, Mr. Paul Simpkins, Associate Director, Office of Small Business Programs cites:

“Despite many budgetary challenges during this time period, your hard work, dedication, and superior achievements have gone a long way towards making this another successful year for the DoD Mentor-Protégé Program. Well done!”

GCI would like to thank CTSC, LLC, our Mentor and the largest independent subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, for their leadership in this process. Thanks to all of our employees for their hard work at making the Mentor-Protégé Program a huge success for both companies. Thanks to all of our customers for their confidence and support for GCI.

As proud recipients of the Nunn-Perry Award, GCI recognizes that great results can be achieved through small business alliances.
